Lynn Stringer Botanical Artist
  Curriculum Vitae

I am a botanical artist living and working in Co. Wicklow, Ireland. All the works featured are in watercolour and pencil. A selection of paintings are available as greetings cards and as limited edition giclee prints. Commissions are welcome if you have a favourite plant or flower that you would like painted.    Prices for original work ranges from €250 to €950.

I am pleased to be part of this group exhibition of Irish Botanical Artin the RANELAGH ARTS CENTRE.  The exhibition runs from Friday the 6th of May until the 19th of May.  Other participating artists are Siobhan Larkin, Shevaun Doherty, Nicola Lynch Morrin,
Yanny Petters, Patricia Jorgensen & Elizabeth Prendergast

I was delighted to be elected a member of the Watercolour Society recently and look forward to exhibiting with them at their annual show later this year.

I will be running  five week botanical art classes through the year on Monday mornings in the Booterstown Parish Centre, South County Dublin.

The classes will be from 11am to 1pm.  The cost for the five weeks will be €100.  Beginners welcome. Please contact me at lynnstringer@eircom.net for further information and upcoming starting dates.

I will be teaching a three day course at An Grianan, Termonfeckin, County Louth from the 8th to the 11th of August.  See www.an-grianan.ie for details.

Rosa 'Mermaid' is finished and I'm really pleased with it.  I think it will be a submission for Bloom. This was one of Monet's favourites and still grows on the front of his house in Giverney.  I'm also working on finishing a painting of Paeonia delavayi.  As usual the leaves are the most time consuming.

May 2016 Ranelagh Arts Centre

Group show in Ranelagh Arts Centre.

The Irish Society of Botanical Artists have launched their new project which will culminate in a book and exhibition in late 2016. We will be painting new Irish introductions (such as Cornus capitata 'Kilmacurragh Rose') in association with the Irish Garden Plant Society. This promises to be a great project.  I am enjoying  working on Agapanthus 'Kilmurry white' which was bred by Paul Woods from Kilmurry Nursery.

Following the success of the exhibition  'Kilmacurragh through the Artist's Eye' held in the Botanic Gardens last year, The Jameson family of Tourin House in Co. Waterford have invited various artists to visit their garden to draw and paint the plants, views and vistas of the garden.     A group exhibition of this work will be held in late 2016.   I am very pleased to be part of this project and have already begun two paintings, one of a Rhododendron and another of an Iris.
