Lynn Stringer Botanical Artist
  Curriculum Vitae

Paeonia delavayii, Gold Medal at Bloom
                  Watercolour 40 x 28 cm.          €550

I am a botanical artist living and working in Co. Wicklow, Ireland. All the works featured are in watercolour and pencil. A selection of paintings are available as greetings cards and as limited edition giclee prints. Commissions are welcome if you have a favourite plant or flower that you would like painted.    Prices for original work ranges from €250 to €950.

The art exhibition at Bloom was a great success again this year.  This is our fourth year and the quality of the work increases every year.     While most of the work is now en route for The Galway Garden Festival to be held in Claregalway in July, a second exhibition of botanical artwork will be at the OPW Visitor's Centre for the rest of the month of June.     The artists involved are Nicola Lynch Morrin, Shevaun Doherty, Holly Somerville, Siobhan Larkin, Elizabeth Prendergast, Mary Dillon, Elaine Moore Mackey and Lynn Stringer.

I was delighted to be elected a member of the Watercolour Society recently and look forward to exhibiting with them at their annual show later this year.

The Booterstown Botanical Art classes are winding down for the summer but will resume on Mondays in the the Booterstown Parish Centre, South County Dublin in September.

Beginners welcome. Please contact me at lynnstringer@eircom.net for further information

I will be teaching a three day course at An Grianan, Termonfeckin, County Louth from the 8th to the 11th of August.  See www.an-grianan.ie for details.

I had a very good Bloom with a bronze medal for my Rosa 'Mermaid', a silver gilt for Magnolia campbellii and a gold for Paeonia delavayi.

The Irish Society of Botanical Artists have launched their new project which will culminate in a book and exhibition in late 2016. We will be painting new Irish introductions (such as Cornus capitata 'Kilmacurragh Rose') in association with the Irish Garden Plant Society. This promises to be a great project.  I am enjoying  working on Agapanthus 'Kilmurry white' which was bred by Paul Woods from Kilmurry Nursery.

Following the success of the exhibition  'Kilmacurragh through the Artist's Eye' held in the Botanic Gardens last year, The Jameson family of Tourin House in Co. Waterford have invited various artists to visit their garden to draw and paint the plants, views and vistas of the garden.     A group exhibition of this work will be held in late 2016.   I am very pleased to be part of this project and have already begun two paintings, one of a Rhododendron and another of an Iris.
