Lynn Stringer Botanical Artist
  Curriculum Vitae

I am a botanical artist living and working in Co. Wicklow, Ireland. All the works featured are in watercolour and pencil. A selection of paintings are available as greetings cards and as limited edition giclee prints. Commissions are welcome if you have a favourite plant or flower that you would like painted.    Prices for original work ranges from €250 to €850.

Peony 'Big Ben' is seen above.    It is available for sale at €395.

Other more recent work is shown under the 'New Work' heading in the menu bar.  Original work, prints and cards are available for sale at the North Wicklow Country Market, Newcastle, Co. Wicklow most Saturday mornings.

I will be attending the Ballymaloe Craft Fair with original paintings, prints and cards for sale.  This takes place on the 21st/22nd November in Cork.

We are presently in the middle of a five week course.  After the Halloween bank holiday I will run another block of classes on Monday mornings in the Booterstown Parish Centre.

The classes will be from 11am to 1pm. for five weeks.  The cost for the five weeks will be €100.  Beginners welcome. Please contact me at lynnstringer@eircom.net for further information.

Bloom 2015 was very good to me.  I was awarded a gold, silver-gilt and silver medal for my three paintings.   The gold medal was for a small painting of our native primrose.

The Irish Society of Botanical Artists have launched their new project which will culminate in a book and exhibition in late 2016.   We will be painting new Irish introductions (such as Cornus capitata 'Kilmacurragh Rose') in association with the Irish Garden Plant Society.  This promises to be a great project.  I am enjoying  working on Agapanthus 'Kilmurry white' which was bred by Paul Woods from Kilmurry Nursery.

Following the success of the exhibition  'Kilmacurragh through the Artist's Eye' held in the Botanic Gardens last year, The Jameson family of Tourin House in Co. Waterford have invited various artists to visit their garden to draw and paint the plants, views and vistas of the garden.     A group exhibition of this work will be held in 2016.   I am very pleased to be part of this project and have already begun two paintings, one of a Rhododendron and another of an Iris.

This year I attended quite a few Rare and Special Plant Fairs around the country.  I had prints, cards and original work for sale.   I plan to attend these fairs again in 2016.
